Ethnic inequalities remain a persistent challenge across our health and care system. The Health Action Resource Platform (HARP), was launched by the NHS Race and Health Observatory, to drive change by bringing together data, learning resources, and a database of best practice case studies.
We are inviting case study submissions from NHS trusts, ICBs, and community organisations working on racial and ethnic health inequalities in the NHS with specific interest in the HARP focus areas: Cancer, cardiovascular disease, COVID-19, diabetes, maternal and neonatal health, mental health, respiratory disease, sickle cell disease, and surgery
We are looking for work that:
- Identifies a clear ethnic or racial health inequality
- Describes an intervention, policy, or service change that addressed it
- Shows evidence of outcome or impact, even if results are still early
- Could feasibly be replicated by another team
Why you should submit a case study:
- National amplification and shaping the standard of best practice: contribute to an evidence-based repository and gain visibility for the project’s achievements.
- Independent validation: review by a panel of academic, clinical, and lived experience expertise, providing external endorsement of the project’s impact.
- Multiply impact: turn a successful local solution into a national blueprint.
What happens after you submit:
Your case study is reviewed by a multidisciplinary panel of leading clinicians, academics, and lived experience experts, including members of the Academic Reference Network, Academic Reference Group and Stakeholder Engagement Group. The panel assesses submissions for rigour, impact, scalability and relevance. Selected case studies will be added to the HARP approximately once per quarter.

Submissions will be accepted on a rolling basis. Case studies submitted by November 30 will be included in the first round of reviews.
